Burnbrow Cottage is a tastefully decorated cosy self-contained cottage set in an attractive garden at Allansford, 5 minutes east of Warrnambool, located beside Burnbrow Manor Bed & Breakfast.

The Cottage is able to offer a diverse range of accommodation options to meet the needs of its guests, along with gas central heating for the chilly nights and portable fans, on stands, for the summer

The 3 bedroom cottage consists of one bedroom with a double bed and single bed, the second bedroom a queen bed, the third bedroom has a double/single bunk bed plus a laundry.

All rooms are tastefully decorated and quite individual in their décor – all beds have electric blankets, quality linen, woollen doonas as well as throw rugs.

Take time to relax in the lounge, enjoy a video or just settle down on the couch or futon to watch a TV program or explore the bookcase with the extensive range of books to read. The fully functional kitchen is well equipped with crockery, cutlery, saucepans, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator and gas stove.

A corner spa compliments the bathroom which also has a separate shower recess, hand basin and toilet - all towels and bathmats are provided. Laundry facilities available.

The enclosed back yard is suitable for children and/or pets. Pets are welcome ONLY by prior arrangement. BBQ, large veranda with outdoor setting makes for a great entertaining area undercover. Breakfast is available for an additional charge. FREE off street parking in cottage driveway.

Coming from Melbourne: (Burnbrow Cottage is located beside Burnbrow Manor Bed & Breakfast.)

  • Take the Princes Highway to Geelong.
  • For the scenic route, to explore the Great Ocean Road, take the Surf Coast Highway to Torquay, to the start of the Great Ocean Road. It is 350 kms or approximately 5.5 hours of breathtaking scenery! At the end of the Great Ocean Road, you rejoin the Princes Highway. Turn left and proceed another 1.5 kms to Burnbrow Manor in Allansford. You'll find us on the left at the intersection of Princes Highway and Garibaldi Lane. You can't miss our signs!
  • For the more direct route, continue from Geelong on the Princes Highway, through Colac, and straight on to us. That will be a trip of 250 kms and should take you approximately 3.5 hours.

Telephone bookings taken at short notice are asked to pay a deposit within 48 hours, usually by credit card, to the value of the first nights accommodation. 10% non-refundable.

Conditions apply - All Packages are valid until 22nd December but not during Public Holidays, Easter, Long weekends or local Special events.

If you are unable to honour your reservation, you must cancel your reservation at least 24 hours prior to arrival time.

If you fail to cancel your reservation at least 24 hours prior to arrival time, an amount equivalent to your first nights tariff may be charged to your credit card.

For special events and long weekends a full nights accommodation is expected to be paid in advance. Additional cancellation requirements may apply.

Balance of account is payable on arrival.

Check in time is 2:00 PM, and check out is 10:00 AM. If you need to arrange for alternate times, just let us know!

 

  Activities

  • 12 Apostles and many other stop off points along the Great Ocean Road, some with walking paths and all with fantastic scenery. These are: Loch Ard Gorge (site of the sinking of the famous ship "Loch Ard"), Two Mile Bay, The Arch, London Bridge, The Grotto, Massacre Bay, Crofts Bay, Bay of Islands, and Childers Cove.
  • For an absolutely stunning view of the Great Ocean Road, take a ride with 12 Apostles Helicopters. Whether it's a 10 minute bird's eye view of the 12 Apostles, or a longer ride up and down the coastline, this experience will be a special highlight of your stay.
  • To fully experience the rich history of the Shipwreck Coast, you must fit in a visit to Warrnambool's Flagstaff Hill. This multi-million dollar maritime museum features an interactive gallery, a historical replica of a maritime village to meander through, and a fabulous evening show called "Shipwrecked". This totally unique show recreates the story of the wreck of the Loch Ard and its survivors in a state-of-the-art laser, light and sound show.
  • From May to September, Warrnambool is the place to be to experience the annual visit of the Southern Right Whales! Warrnambool is Victoria's premier land-based Whale Watching location. A special platform has been built at Logan's Beach to view the whales from the best vantage point. A definite must-see! Be sure to contact Southern Right Charters & Diving to get an up-close and personal look at these amazing creatures!
  • Nearby Hopkins Falls and Tower Hill Game Reserve are perfect for hiking and picnics. Tower Hill is the site of an extinct volcano, rich with aboriginal history, where you may observe wildlife such as koalas, emus, kangaroos, and many species of waterbirds in their natural environment.
  • Cheese World is a very popular attraction, right on the Great Ocean Road as you are driving into Allansford. Over 100 varieties of Australian cheese are featured here ... There are complimentary cheese tastings, a historical museum, a wine cellar and a licensed restaurant to enjoy.
  • Plan a day trip to the magnificent Grampians National Park. Learn about the rich aboriginal history at the Brambuk Aboriginal Cultural Centre, hike the trails at MacKenzie Falls, The Balconies, through the Wonderland Range and visit other fabulous lookouts. With 970 native plant species, 200 bird species, and abundant animal wildlife, there is plenty to see! There are a variety of shops and restaurants at Halls Gap for resting and having a meal.
  • Visit Proudfoot's Boathouse, on the Hopkins River at Warrnambool. First opened in 1885, it is included in the Historic Buildings Register and the National Trust Register. They also serve fabulous meals at Proudfoot's, so you can dine well and explore a little history at the same time!
  • See the Fairy Penguins at Middle Island, a short walk from the Breakwater in Warrnambool.
