Cliff Top Country House offers
a coastal holiday at a peaceful luxury country retreat on a nine acre property on Phillip
Island, Victoria, 1½ hours drive south east of Melbourne.
This luxury retreat overlooks the beautiful coastline and beaches of Phillip Island and
provides spacious accommodation in a magnificent bed and breakfast, with the opportunity to
explore, walk or swim and a chance to see numerous internationally famous tourist

bathrooms, open out on to the surrounding grasslands with views of the sea and beach.

Location
Phillip Island is
situated approximately 150 kms from Melbourne and is an hour and a halfs drive
from Melbourne along the South Eastern Freeway firstly, then the South Gippsland and Bass
Highways. A bridge links it to the mainland and the town of San Remo. |
The island was
originally a farming area for sheep and dairy cattle but many farms have now been
subdivided for housing. Cowes, Ventnor, Newhaven and Rhyll are the main towns and
residents work locally or commute to and from the city. |
Tourists visit the
island all year to see the famous Penguin Parade, Seal Rocks, the Phillip Island Koala
Conservation Centre. Also the island is the home of the Australian Motor Cycle Grand Prix.

Cliff Top
Beachfront B & B
provides a guests living area with sweeping ocean views, a 100-year-old billiard
table, hammocks, reclining couches, a library and a log fire. For the more active there is
billiards, volley ball court and a fitness track. |
Special Attractions
The building is a
100 square cedar framed country house, light and airy inside, with attractive rooms
decorated and appointed by interior designer, Pamela Lloyd. |
The ever popular Nobbies and
Seal Rocks on the south eastern tip of the island possess a new ultra-modern Tourist
Centre with films, auditory cassette guides and telescopes, and the chance to get a
close-up view of the seals in their natural habitat. |
The world famous Penguin
Parade, with commentary, takes place each evening at dusk and the large Tourist Centre
sells a variety of goods including coats for warmth or rain, cards, fur animals, small and
large souvenirs. |
Other attractions worth a visit
- Churchill Island, on the north west coast, accessible only
by boat.
- Pyramid Rock and attractive swimming beaches on the south
side.
- Cape Woolamai, famous for its beach, The Pinnacles, its
fauna reserve and mutton bird rookeries.
- French Island and the French Island National Park by ferry.
