Donkey Camp B&B, set on a working Mango farm, is a large rammed earth home with verandahs all around sited in 5 acres of lush garden, lawns and large old trees providing plenty of shade and a sanctuary for birdlife.
Situated on the Katherine River, 10.5 Km from town on the road to the fabulous Katherine Gorge on the site of a 19th century staging camp for donkey teams hauling gold across the river.

Accommodation :

All 3 bedrooms are in separate wing with its own private entrance

Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the third a double and a single bed

The bedrooms are air conditioned and have additional ceiling fans.
Floor to ceiling length windows in each room overlook the shaded garden area

Guests share a large bathroom with a shower, bath and toilet. There is an additional separate toilet for the convenience of guests

Our tariff includes a full breakfast prepared with local produce in season

Relax in the comfortably furnished guest lounge with its full length windows looking out on to lush scenery

Guests have use of large kitchen for tea and coffee making

Location

Donkey Camp Bed & Breakfast is located 10.5 kilometres from the centre of Katherine en route to Katherine Gorge and is situated right on the Katherine River at the Donkey Camp Weir

Katherine is 300 Km south of Darwin along the Stuart Highway and is the meeting pint for roads from Western Australia, Darwin and South Australia

Activities

Guests can take a walk along the river in the evening and will see plenty of birdlife, wallabies and fabulous sunsets

Donkey Camp is noted for its good bank fishing and access is available to small boats and canoes

Our property is home to 3000 mango trees - we are a working mango farm. Our guests are welcome to participate in any farm activities. Our mangos ripen in October and November

Other Attractions

Enjoy an evening outdoor barbeque in our garden. We offer locally caught barramundi and/or steak barbeque packs ($30 per two person pack) to "do it yourself"

Feast on Katherine grown roast beef and vegetables dinner at $25 per person ( min. 4 guests) .
