Breakfast

Gourmet breakfasts can be served in the formal dining room of the main house, in your cottage, or within the gardens. Local produce, free range eggs, fruit and vegetables from the garden, and attention to detail ensure a delightful start to the day. Menus change by the season, and special dietary requirements can be catered for.

The Garden

Explore the 1.6 acres of stunning heritage garden. Wander through the meandering paths of the sun-dappled spinney, surrounded by camellias, rare hellebores, narcissi and primroses. Relax within the walled, formal, heritage rose gardens with views over adjoining vineyards, or discover the extensive native gardens.

Croquet and boules can be enjoyed on the lawn, originally the tennis court c.1920. Take tea or a cooling beverage on the wide, sheltered verandahs of the main house, or relax with a good book beneath rare, flowering trees.

The gardens attract many species of birds throughout the seasons, and display a profusion of Spring flowering bulbs and Autumn colour.

History

The Fawkes family were early settlers in the Carmel Valley and completed their substantial, brick and tile homestead c.1919. The house is a perfect example of the Federation style with characteristic tall chimneys, Marseilles tiles and a traditional verandah with gables and turned timber work. Within, original ceiling roses and cornices, polished jarrah floors and decoration true to the period complete the picture.

We are located in the Carmel Valley opposite Cosham Wines and MyattsField.

Fawkes House is 25 minutes from Perth CBD, 20 minutes from Perth International and Domestic Airports.

Kalamunda is 10 minutes away, as is the Biblimum Track.

We are on the Bickley and Carmel Wine Trail.
