Fleurbaix B & B is a stylish comfortable getaway on the edge of Sherbrooke Forest in the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. Only one hour east of Melbourne, with nearby views of the city skyline from Mt Dandenong, Fleurbaix is centrally located in the most popular tourist region of Victoria featuring forests, lakes, picnic areas, waterfalls and spectacular gardens of azaleas and rhododendrons.

Location

Fleurbaix B & B is at Sassafras between Olinda and Ferny Creek in the Dandenong Ranges about one hours drive east of the CBD of Melbourne, Victoria
 Take the Burwood Highway (Route 26)  to Upper Fern Tree Gully and then take the Mt Dandenong Tourist Road to Sassafras
Alternatively take Whitehorse Road  through Ringwood, Croydon, Kalorama and Olinda to Fleurbaix at Sassafras

Activities

Take a drive to the National Rhododendron Garden at Olinda and see the Azaleas and Rhododendrons set amongst native and imported trees. Walk the nature trails and take a picnic or barbecue in this wonderful display area
Drive to Kalorama via Mt Dandenong lookout, then continue in a circular route to Silvan Reservoir and the Tulip farms to Monbulk and stop en route for Devonshire Tea at one of the many Tea Rooms in the hills
Browse the large range of handicrafts and antiques at scattered shops throughout the region
Dine at some of the many fine restaurants in the Sassafras - Olinda area

Special Attractions

Puffing Billy, Australia's oldest steam railway, runs every day of the year (except Christmas Day) from Belgrave to Emerald Lake then on to Gembrook
William Ricketts Sanctuary has clay sculptures, depicting Australian Aboriginal life and mythology, displayed amongst ferns, rocks and water in a forest setting.
