Hanlon House B & B (circa 1904) offers first class accommodation, superb food and old fashioned Tasmanian hospitality at Stanley, a charming, historic village and fishing port on the north west coast of Tasmania.  Nestled just under the 'Nut' a magnificent rocky outcrop you can relive the colourful history with clean air, beaches and tranquillity.

 Beautifully decorated in heritage federation colours you can choose from five guest rooms. 

The front room has a queen size and a single bed with ensuite bathroom. 

Another downstairs room has a queen size bed with adjoining bathroom. 

Newlyweds can relax in the spa in the honeymoon room complete with sea views. 

Upstairs, also with sea views, are two adjoining bedrooms; one with one bathroom, two queen size beds and one single bed, making it suitable for a family or two couples travelling together.

Also upstairs is an attic suite consisting of a bedroom with queen size bed, a lounge room with TV, VCR, Fridge etc, and bathroom. Enjoy a spectacular view of the nut from these rooms. 

Receive a delicious afternoon tea on arrival and enjoy a generous cooked breakfast in the dining room at the time that suits you. Also enjoy a candlelight dinner in the evening if you desire. 

Enjoy a cosy log fire and a friendly and comfortable atmosphere in our smoke free house.

   Location

Hanlon House is at Stanley about 2˝ hours west of Launceston or 1˝ hours from the ferry at Devonport on the north west coast of Tasmania. 
Located overlooking the sea in the heart of historic Stanley below the 'Nut' Hanlon House makes an excellent base for those wishing to explore the region and its many attractions.

  Activities

 Ride on the chairlift to the top of the 'Nut' a spectacular rocky outcrop, the remnants of a volcanic plug, which dominates the Stanley township. 
 Let Graham take you to see a colony of fairy penguins who nest only 2 minutes walk from our Bed and Breakfast accommodation. (usually July through to April).
 Visit historic Highfield Estate, see Joe Lyons Cottage (birthplace of the only Tasmanian born Prime Minister) or browse in the Discovery Centre Museum. 
Check out the delightful craft shops, elegant stone buildings and fine restaurants and tea rooms in the quaint seaside historic village of Stanley. 

  Other Attractions

 Explore Tasmania's wilderness and take an Arthur River cruise or visit nearby Rocky Cape National Park. See the rugged west coast and take time to enjoy the spectacular scenery of the rich farming areas close to Stanley. Explore the coastline and see miles of spectacular beaches and rocky headlands and outcrops. For more variety take a trip to the Allendale Gardens and Rainforest Walk or visit the Dip Falls at Mawbanna. 

Wildlife is abundant.  Take a cruise to a nearby seal colony.  Enjoy an evening penguin or platypus tour.  Visit the seafood exporting factory and view the live rock lobster and huge king crabs. Four wheel drive day tours of the west coast or the historic Woolnorth property are also a must.
