Pam's Place is set amidst tropical gardens at COOKTOWN in Far North Queensland. A BACKPACKERS hostel, Pam's Place allows you to experience the real Tropical North Queensland in clean, modern spacious and idyllic surroundings. Plan to stay at least 3 days as there is plenty to do in Cooktown. Your host, Scott, will assist you to have a great time during your stay at Pam's Place.

Pam's Place is situated in Cooktown in Far North Queensland about 330 km north of Cairns (by the inland route)  
Cooktown is accessed during the dry season by 4WD or coach up the scenic coast road north from Cairns, through unique rainforest OR by the all-weather inland route that offers spectacular views and can be driven in a conventional car OR by bus from Cairns daily (except Monday) - ask the driver to drop you at our door - Phone Coral Coaches - (07) 4031 7577 OR by plane to/from Cairns twice daily - Phone Transtate - 13 1528 
Pam's Place is on the corner of Charlotte & Boundary Streets at the northern end of Cooktown, a short walk from the main street

Activities 

relax and swim in the salt water pool, play pool and sip cold drinks at the licensed bar 
laze on beautiful deserted beaches, visit ancient Aboriginal rock paintings, spot crocodiles on a river cruise, see the haunting Black Mountain, hike to lookouts with spectacular views 
there is plenty to do in Cooktown (plan to stay at least 3 days), visit fascinating museums, take a walk through town to say "G'day" to the locals or enjoy a meal at one of the excellent restaurants in Cooktown
