Quarter Deck B & B overlooks the beautiful fishing village of San Remo near the bridge to Phillip Island, Victoria. Take a few days to see the many local attractions including Seal Rocks, the Koala Conservation Park, the Pelicans and the fabulous surf beaches. Also well worth a visit is Churchill Island and the world famous Penguin Parade. For a great day out take a relaxing drive along the breathtaking coastline of South Gippsland all the way to Wilsons Promontory. Join us at our "admirable accommodation" and relax and unwind in one of the most popular tourist regions in Australia.

There is a double /twin room upstairs with adjoining spa bathroom and separate toilet
Downstairs is a self-contained unit ideal for a family
Also we have a new self-contained unit with spa bath complete with bay views and a garden aspect
The upstairs deck has extensive bay, ocean and island views which you can enjoy as you take our Australian or Continental breakfast outdoors in warmer weather

Location

Quarter Deck is less than 100 minutes from Melbourne from Melbourne along the Monash Freeway firstly, then the South Gippsland and Bass Highways. A bridge from San Remo links to the Phillip Island
Quarter Deck is at the "high end" of San Remo, a fishing village of around 1000 people and is only 15 minutes from the major tourist attractions in the area
Tourists visit the island year round to see the famous Penguin Parade, Seal Rocks, the Phillip Island Koala Conservation Centre and other attractions. Also nearby on the island is the home of the Australian Motor Cycle Grand Prix.

Take a short drive to local beaches or to well known capes and lookouts around the island 
Quarter Deck is a short distance from the towns of Wonthaggi and the seaside village of Inverloch. Cowes, the main town on Phillip Island, is 15 minutes away. The rolling hills of South Gippsland with quaint towns, spectacular tourist drives and fern gullies with waterfalls afford a great opportunity for a wonderful escape

Special Attractions

The ever popular Nobbies and Seal Rocks on the south eastern tip of Phillip Island possess a new ultra-modern Tourist Centre with films, auditory cassette guides and telescopes, and the chance to get a close-up view of the seals in their natural habitat
The world famous Penguin Parade, with commentary, takes place each evening at dusk and the large Tourist Centre sells a variety of goods including coats for warmth or rain, cards, fur animals, small and large souvenirs 
Other attractions:
  • take a Bay Connections Cruise from Cowes to Seal Rocks and see these fabulous creatures in their natural habitat. This is a 'must do' and is an unforgettable few hours. Alternatively take a cruise to nearby French Island.
  • Pyramid Rock and attractive swimming beaches on the south side
  • Cape Woolamai, famous for its surf beach, The Pinnacles, its fauna reserve and mutton bird rookeries
