Amazing Wollumbin Palm Retreat's multi award winning lodges are nestled amongst sub-tropical rainforest at the foot of Mt Warning. So close yet so far away. You will be forgiven for feeling like you are a world away from civilisation when unwinding in one of our very unique and stunning lodges.

Only 3 lodges are situated on our 80 acres of paradise, each is completely hidden from the others and separated by at least 300 metres. So private in fact that the option of hot outdoor showering is an experience that our guests talk about for years to come. Each lodge is totally unique, so much so that reading about or looking at pictures of do not even come close to doing them justice. The love and attention to detail that has been built into each of these creations, together with the extra touches like being greeted with home made afternoon tea, has come from the desire to make our guests' stay an unforgettable one.

Our hospitality extends to supplying espresso machines and a range of teas, the option of gluten free bread for breakfast, and vegetarian meals if required. We are also now dog friendly to well mannered pooches.

Wollumbin (the Aboriginal name for Mt Warning) is the first part of Australia to be touched by the new days sunlight. It is a stunning rock formation created some 20 million years ago by a now extinct massive volcanic eruption. This really is a very special and magical part of the world.

And we are only half an hour from the Gold Coast's Coolangatta airport or approx 1½ hours from Brisbane International airport. A 30 minute drive will have you in world renowned Byron Bay.

12 sided ‘yurt style’ lodge with a self supporting roof, we crafted Sir Joseph Banks Lodge from eight different native timbers. It is nestled in the rainforest and reached by your own 16 meter foot bridge.

We made the furniture from natural edged woods and together
with the teak floor, adds to the warm and intimate atmosphere. True romance!

A pair of 300 year old Joglo's or Prayer Rooms from a Javanese Kings Palace set the scene for this unique experience. The vaulted teak ceilings and intricate wood carvings are all authentic.

Altwood Lodge is a truly remarkable place to stay. Crafted in rock and stone with huge timber slabs, it is all glass at the front giving you your own spectacular views to Mount Warning.
